A mixture of early to mid century social history & design. This John Player & Sons metal, hinged cigarette tin still shows all of the original design & marketing features, with the added bonus of a natural patina (built up over the last 70 - 99years!).
After a huge marketing campaign featuring Arthur David McCormick’s painting 'Head of a Sailor' in 1927, these hinged tins were produced in various sizes up until the 1950's, where there was a transition away from Metal & a move over to Cardboard packaging.
